However, every time I visit the park, it continues to surprise me with its natural beauty regardless of the season. The park features a combination of open meadows and small patches of woodland on a gently rolling terrain. At 359.72 acres, it is the largest developed park in Essex County. The Newark Light Rail runs on the park’s west side, providing multiple access points from Newark Penn Station.ĭuring April Branch Brook Park becomes a sea of pink and white Cherry Blossoms!īranch Brook Park is nearly 4 miles long and averages 1/4 of a mile in width.

Branch Brook is known for housing the largest collection of cherry blossom trees in the United States. Restrooms in campus buildings are open to visitors during normal business hours on weekdays but closed to visitors on weekends.Branch Brook Park, the nation’s first county park, is located in North Newark with a portion of the park touching the Township of Belleville. To get to the Quad from Lot N22, take the pathway between the Communications Building and Clark Hall, then use the path between the Music Building and Miller Hall to enter the Quad.Ī state-issued disability placard must be displayed when parking in Lot N22. The northeast entrance is closest to accessible parking, Lot N22. The southwest entrance is closest to Red Square. There are two accessible entrances to the Quad, one to the southwest between Savery Hall and Gowen Hall and one to the northeast between Raitt Hall and Miller Hall. It highlights accessible parking areas, walking routes, building entrances and other resources.
